• Salmon Creek, by Annette LeBox. Douglas and McIntyre, 2002 - a lyrical story of the life cycle of a coho salmon from the point of view of a salmon character named Sumi.
• Salmon Princess: An Alaska Cinderella Story, by Mindy Dwyer. Paws IV Publishing, 2004 - a playful retelling of the classic Cinderella story, with the fairy godmother as an eagle spirit, the glass slipper a fisherwoman’s boot, and the action set in Alaska.
• A Salmon for Simon, by Betty Waterton. Mouse Meadow, 1996 - the story of a young boy who wants desperately to catch a salmon and, when he finally gets one, struggles to keep it alive.
